World Book Day
World Book Day became World Book week kicking off with our Masked Reader Challenge where the children had to guess which of the adults in school were behind the many weird and wonderful disguises reading one of their favourite stories. This got the week off to a brilliant start. The book swap was also a huge hit, igniting excitement as all the children had the opportunity to take home a new book.
World Book Day itself was a great success! The children and staff looked fantastic in their costumes and their day was filled with book based ideas. The Great Literacy Bake Off was a highlight, with families bonding over book-themed baked goods and creating some culinary masterpieces to rival the professional bakers.
We were delighted to welcome reading buddies from Wellfield Middle School, fostering a love for stories across age groups. Year 4's visit to Reception and Nursery for story sharing was heartwarming, as was the teacher swap between Year 4 and 5 for book-based activities. Not only did we raise funds to enrich our school library, but most importantly, our children had a blast!
