Behaviour and Anti-Bullying
At South Wellfield First School, we understand that behaviour is another element of the school curriculum that children need to learn. Our children follow the Wellfield Way which consists of three rules:
- Safe
- Respectful
- Ready
This behaviour approach ensures children feel physically and emotional safe, that they understand what respectful means in relation to themselves, others and school property and when these are in place our children can be ready to learn. It is rooted in positivity, consistency and restorative practise. This all contributes towards the Well-nurtured strand of our vision; we want our children to have a positive sense of well-being and the tools to make good choices. The incorporation of the Zones of Regulation into our curriculum helps support our children to self regulate.
Bullying will not be tolerated at South Wellfield First School. Bullying is defined as a persistent ‘attack’ by one or more children on another, or the deliberate exclusion of one child by others over a period of time. All behaviour and bullying incidents will be dealt with in line with our behaviour policies which can be found below.
